Director, Product Group Distribution/Sales

Details: AAR Distribution is seeking a results orientated professional to oversee the strategy and day-to-day execution for the Unison product line. As an exclusive worldwide aftermarket distributor for Unison the Product Director will oversee the relationship with Unison and guide the long-term strategic direction of the partnership.  Additionally, the Product Director will ensure that AAR customer’s dynamic needs are being served through a robust product offering and excellent service. To achieve maximum sales and margin objectives for the Unison Product Line. The sales volume required for this salary grade is $30- $39 million.Responsibilities: Own and drive the relationship with AAR’s global sales organization and other essential departments to support the annual margin plan for the product line   Define, execute and monitor the key performance metrics relevant to the Unison product line to continuously improve product portfolio management, cost reductions, supply chain improvements and customer satisfaction Establish and execute inventory strategies for the product line to drive top-line sales growth while maximizing product profitability and inventory turns Perform analysis on market sales potential and develop strategies to define and capture new opportunities    Focus on initiatives to execute effective programs promoting top-line sales growth and profitability Responsible for seeking out internal opportunities within AAR business units that leverage the Unison relationship Drive supplier performance and enhance the company’s inventory and logistics objectives Lead the preparation and presentation of vendor reviews encompassing but not limited to key performance metrics, financial performance and contract compliance Negotiate all elements of the relationship to ensure lowest total cost of procurement including product cost, performance metrics and rebates   Prepare reports for Distribution management and AAR senior management on sale and key performance metrics  As needed represent AAR and Unison through involvement in industry trade associations and events   Other duties as assigned CORE COMPETENCIES  Motivation: must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy  Initiative: plans work and carries independently, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities  Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others  Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills  Dependability: personally responsible, completes work in a timely manner, and performs tasks accurately  Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared
